CIA Mohali nabs youth with 100 gram heroin
Mohali, May 11, 2021:
The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Mohali police has arrested a person for allegedly possessing 100 gram heroin.
The accused has been identified as Manjit Singh, a resident of Lohgarh village near Zirakpur here. He was running a car washing station at his village.
Mohali SSP Satinder Singh informed on Tuesday that the police had received a tip-off that Manjit was going to supply heroin in areas of Kharar and Kurali. Acting on the information, he was intercepted at a blockade setup by the police party of SI Pawan Kumar on May 9 near Bhuru Chowk, Kharar. The accused was riding a Splendor bike when he was signaled to stop. On searching, the cops recovered the drug from his possession. He was arrested on the spot.
During his interrogation, he confessed before the police that he used to procure the drug from Delhi and sell it in areas of Mohali, Kharar and Kurali at higher prices.
A case has been registered against him under Sections 21-61-85 of the NDPS Act at the City Kharar police station.
He was produced before a local court, which sent him to two-day police custody.
