Ferozepur: Oxygen Concentrator Bank launched at District Red Cross for Covid-19 patients
Ferozepur, May 26, 2021: The District Red Cross Society has set up an Oxygen Concentrator Bank at the in its campus, for Covid-19 positive patients in view of extra demand of oxygen in the wake of epidemic.
Disclosing this here today Deputy Commissioner cum President District Red Cross Branch Ferozepur Gurpal Singh Chahal said that this bank has been set up for the patients of Covid 19 and if required any patient can get oxygen concentrator on certain nominal conditions.
He said that the oxygen machine could be provided for 14 days and if any one needed an oxygen concentrator even after 14 days, he would have to get a prescription from the concerned doctor where he was undergoing treatment that the patient needed the machine.
DC further said, in order to get the machine a repayable security of Rs.10,000 would have to be deposited at the District Red Cross Branch Ferozepur. The usage charges would be Rs.200 per day and a deposit of Rs.2000 would be required. The security will be refunded after deducting the usage charges incurred on return of the oxygen concentrator. However, any further iInformation should be sought from the concerned doctor on how to use it. If the patient's health deteriorates while using the machine, the concerned doctor / hospital where the treatment is taking place should be contacted immediately. Neither the district administration nor the Red Cross will be responsible for this.
Making it clear, he said, the oxygen concentrator will be taken in the same condition as it was given, if there is any malfunction then the cost of repair / spare part etc. will have to be paid and if the machine breaks down completely, the amount due will be around Rs 70,000.
He said that Oxygen Concentrator would be provided on the testimony of a responsible person (Sarpanch / Nambardar or Municipal Councilor). If the candidate does not fulfill the conditions then his responsibility and every condition will be fulfilled by the person testifying without the candidate. For this a copy of Aadhaar card of the person and the person giving testimony has to be submitted and any Kovid 19 patient can avail this facility if required.
Secretary Red Cross, Ashok Behal said, our rates for Oxygen Concentrators are cheaper than any other district in the State and rather it is facility made available to the Covid patients in this hour of need.
S.P.Khera, President, Senior Citizens Forum and Suraj Mehta, Secretary, Anti Crime Anti Narcotics India Wing, has appreciated the initiative of the district administration for setting up Oxygen Concentrators Bank which would be helpful for the Covid patients on getting discharge from the hospital, at very nominal charges.
