UT Adviser Dharam Pal asks DGP and DC to ensure COVID enforcement drive from June 25
Adviser Dharam Pal attends his first COVID meeting with Centre
Chandigarh, June 24, 2021:
Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba reviewed the public health response to Covid-19 and its preparedness of the States/UTs through Video Conference on Thursday. The meeting was attended by the Chief Secretaries/Advisers to Administrators and Director General of Police of States/UTs. Inputs from various public health experts were shared with the States. They were asked to ensure strengthening of medical infrastructure, accelerate the pace of vaccination and ensure enforcement of COVID Appropriate Behaviour.
In a subsequent meeting with officers of UT Administration, Adviser Dharam Pal,IAS, directed the officers to ensure compliance with the directions given by the Cabinet Secretary. He also instructed the Director General of Police and Deputy Commissioner to ensure an enforcement drive from June 25 against those violating Covid Appropriate Behaviour. He further appealed to the public to wear masks, maintain social distancing and to get themselves vaccinated.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Home, Arun Kumar Gupta, Director General of Police, Sanjay Baniwal, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, KK Yadav, Deputy Commissioner, Mandip Singh Brar, CEO, Chandigarh Housing Board, Yashpal Garg and Director Health Services, Dr. Amandeep Kang.
