Balaji and Sharan drop just one game in doules pre-quarter in Bahrain
Chandigarh, November 25, 2021:
Third seeded Indian pair of N.Sriram Balaji and Divij Sharan dropped just one game before beating wild cards Abdulkarim Abdulnabi and Hasan Abdulnabi of Bahrain 6-1, 6-0 in the doubles first round match in the $ 52,080 Bahrain Ministry of Interior Tennis Challenger in Manama (Bahrain).
Balaji and Sharan next face a challenge in the quarter-finals from Yu Hsiou Hsu of Taipei and Khumoyun Sultanov of Uzbekistan.
In another doubles first round outing fourth Indian duo of Arjun Kadhe and Ramkumar Ramanathan defeated wild cards Omar Ahmed and Saud Alhogbani of Saudi Arabia 6-0 3-1 (RET).
Arjun and Ramkumar meet Alexander Cozbinov and Marek Gengel of Czech Republic in the doubles quarter-final.
However, second seeded Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan of India, pairing with Goncalo Oliveira of Portugal, were upset by wild card holders Nuno Borges and Francisco Cabral of Portugal in a tough doubles first round match.
