Mayank Foundation campaigns through ‘Mascot Shera’ to increase voter turnout and promote ethical voting
Ferozepur, February 18, 2022: Ahead of Punjab Assembly polls, the local leading NGO – Mayank Foundation – has been active for creating awareness on the importance of voting in Ferozepur, as per the instructions of the ECI and CEO Punjab to ensure cent percent voting under the leadership of Girish Dayalan, DC-cum-DEO.
In a bid to create awareness among voters on the importance of their votes, to increase voter turnout and promote ethical voting, the banners of Mascot Shera were attractive during the campaign, depicting a lion which represented the rich cultural heritage of Punjab

Deepak Sharma, Founder said, “Public participation is needed to bring about reforms and the same can be achieved only through the active participation of social activists, in helping to form the strengthened democracy”.
It is also the job of NGOs also to spread awareness among the people must know about the importance of voting because one honest politician at the top can make a huge difference and also putting them wiser about the facilities available for people with special needs, elderly women, transgenders, while using their right to franchise on the day of voting.
He said, voting will not be the end to all problems but just a beginning to the end and the youth can be a deciding factor in bringing about change.
Principals – Rajesh Mehta and Ajit Kumar said, the major chunk of voters belongs to the lower strata who do not have much information about the party or the candidate they vote for. So we have done this job by educating these people with the contribution of teachers in the festival of democracy.
