Chandigarh: AAP councilors raises issue of cleanliness of parks

Chandigarh, November 28, 2023: Today in the General House meeting of Chandigarh Municipal Corporation here today, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) councilors raised the issues of the people of Chandigarh.
AAP councillor Damanpreet Singh today raised questions on the issue of cleanliness of the city's parks and asked Mayor Anup Gupta that despite funds being given to the welfare associations for cleaning the parks, work is not being done.
MC's raised the questions that no action is taken against them by the Municipal Corporation? He said that despite giving lakhs of rupees to the Welfare Association in his ward, the cleanliness of the parks is poor.
Answering the question of Councilor Damanpreet Singh, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Anindita Mitra said that the MOUs of the welfare associations on whose behalf the parks are not being cleaned will be cancelled.
Councilor Jasvir Singh Ladi raised the issue of community center in his ward and said that instead of building a banquet hall, a community center should be built in his ward. He also demanded that there is no MC guest house in Chandigarh, hence an MC guest house should be built in his ward.
In the meeting, councilors Damanpreet Singh and Ram Chandra Yadav raised the issue of collecting garbage of shopkeepers and said that there is a big problem of collecting garbage of shopkeepers in the city. Due to which shopkeepers are facing problems.
In response, the Municipal Corporation Commissioner said that in the coming days, 250 employees from Manimajra will be deployed in different markets of the city and a garbage collection committee will also be formed.
Councillor Ram Chandra Yadav raised the issue of Housing Board houses built in Dhanas in the Municipal Corporation.
He said that the condition of the houses built by the Housing Board 12 years ago in his ward is very bad. Due to which people are facing a lot of problems. It is very important to resolve this as soon as possible.
In the Municipal Corporation meeting, Councilor Yogesh Dhingra raised the issue of building a community center in Sector 25. Along with him, Councilor Jaswinder Kaur also raised the issue of building a community center in her ward.
Councilor Suman Amit Sharma raised the issue of lack of dispensary in his ward and said that there is a great need for a dispensary in his ward. People have to go to big hospitals even for minor diseases and demanded, a dispensary should be built in his ward as soon as possible.
