Farmers protest under KMSC banner over death of Shubkarn Singh at Khanauri border, burn centre leaders effigies
Ferozepur, February 24, 2024: The farmers under the banner of Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee (KMSC) registered their protest, on a call to observe two days – Feb 23 and 24 as Black Day, under the leadership of Baba Ram Lal of Arif Ke Zone along with Bachittar Singh Qutabdin Wala and Avtar Singh Bagge Wala, over the death of Shubkarn Singh from village Ballowal of Bathinda, at Khanori border and burned the effigy of PM Modi, Home Minister Shah and CM Haryana Khattar, at the chow of Arik Ke village near Ferozepur.
In protest against this, the farmers announced to celebrate two days as Black Day by hoisting black flags on their houses in cities and towns and requested every section of the society to hoist black flags on their homes, shops and vehicles and to take action against the government.
The farmer leaders said Shubhkarn has become the victim due to the atrocities perpetrated by the BJP Khattar government of Haryana at the Khanauri border last day.
They said, with the instigation of Haryana and the Central Government, the tractor trolleys and vehicles of the farmers (about 150 agriculture implements) were badly vandalized and the tyres of the tractors and vehicles were torn to pieces. Even the tanks were destroyed and the ration brought by the farmers from the villages was taken out of the trolleys and scattered on the road unarmed farmer labourers were beaten up and many farmers were kidnapped by government goons and taken to an unknown place whose whereabouts are still unknown.
On this occasion, farmer leaders said that Delhi is not far for us and they want this movement to be fought peacefully, but the Khattar government has resorted to hooliganism. They said that the central government should support the farmers and that the rightful demands should be implemented as soon as possible.
On this occasion, farmer leaders Satnam Singh, Rashpal Singh, Gurdev Singh, Jarmal Singh, Niranjan Singh, Gurbhej Singh, Gurjant Singh, Ajmer Singh, Harpreet Singh, Hardeep Singh and others were present.
