Railway starts investigation into driverless goods train incident
Ferozepur, February 26, 2024: The railway is investigating the incident of the runaway freight train loaded with gravel that traveled 70 km without a drive, on Sunday. As per the sources, certain officials have been called at Kathua where the train was parked, and around 50 carriages set off solo, from Jammu and Kashmir to Punjab, and were halted by wooden blocks placed on the tracks near Unchi Bassi due to steep gradient. However, no casualty or damage to property was reported, However, the major train accident was averted.
No action has so far been initiated against any employee and, the action will be initiated only after the preliminary investigation is completed, said sources.
