India's attack kills entire family of Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar

New Delhi, May 7, 2025 - The extremist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed has said that 10 family members and four close associates of the organization's chief Masood Azhar have been killed in India's attack on Pakistan.
According to BBC Hindi news, Jaish-e-Mohammed (JEM) issued a statement on Wednesday saying that the deceased included Masood Azhar's elder sister and sister-in-law, nephew, nephew's wife, niece and five children of the family.
Jaish-e-Mohammed also said that three close associates of Masood Azhar and the mother of one of them were killed in the attack.
According to the statement, Masood Azhar's relatives were killed in the attack on the Subhan Allah Mosque in Bahawalpur, Pakistan.In February 2019, Jaish-e-Mohammed carried out a suicide bombing in Jammu and Kashmir, killing 40 soldiers.
On Wednesday morning, Indian Army Colonel Sophia Qureshi told a press briefing that the Indian Armed Forces launched 'Operation Sindoor' between 1:05 am and 1:30 am on the intervening night of 6-7 May 2025.
He said, "This operation was launched to bring justice to the innocent civilians and their families who were victims of the horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22. In this operation, nine terrorist camps were targeted and completely destroyed."
Pakistan has reported that 26 civilians were killed and 46 injured in the Indian airstrike.
