Railway earns ₹2.69 Crore from 43,092 ticketless passengers in July 2025
Ferozepur, August 3, 2025: The ticket checking staff of the Ferozepur Railway Division has earned a revenue of ₹2.69 crore during July 2025 by intensifying checks against ticketless and irregular travel to ensure comfortable and lawful journeys for genuine rail users.
According to railway officials, a total of 43,092 passengers were caught traveling either without a ticket or with irregular tickets during routine and surprise checks conducted by ticket checking staff and Chief Ticket Inspectors. The recovered amount has significantly contributed to the division’s revenue, marking it as a commendable effort by the staff.
To curb unauthorized travel, the Railway Administration has also launched surprise ticket checking drives, advising passengers to always carry valid tickets while traveling.
In addition to this, to maintain cleanliness at railway stations and raise awareness among the public, anti-littering drives were carried out at major stations in the division. As a result, 414 passengers were fined a total of ₹75,200 in July under the Anti-Littering Act for spreading garbage within station premises.
Divisional Railway Manager Sanjeev Kumar stated that such ticket checking drives will continue across the Ferozepur Division with the aim of achieving “zero ticketless travel.” The objective is to increase ticket sales and discourage any form of unauthorized travel.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Paramdeep Singh Saini emphasized that the ticket checking staff not only contribute to revenue generation but also assist passengers, fulfilling their social responsibility. To keep their morale high, outstanding staff members are regularly honored with appreciation certificates.
