Railway launches cleanliness drive and awareness campaign ahead of I-Day

Ferozepur, August 8, 2025: As part of the Independence Day Celebrations – 2025, a special cleanliness drive was conducted by the Ferozepur Rail Division on August 4, 2025. The objective of the drive was to ensure cleanliness in the railway premises and the surrounding areas.
The special "Shramdaan" (voluntary labour) activity was organised at several major locations, including Ferozepur Cantt, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Jalandhar City, Jalandhar Cantt, Dhandari Kalan, Phagwara, and the Divisional Railway Manager’s Office. During the program, passengers were motivated to maintain cleanliness at railway stations and in trains through public announcement systems. Pledge pamphlets were also distributed among passengers to encourage their commitment to cleanliness.
As part of the ongoing campaign, on August 3, workshops and training programs were conducted at key railway stations by Chief Health Inspectors to educate sanitation staff on effective cleaning practices. Additionally, a street play was performed at Jalandhar City Railway Station to raise awareness among passengers about the importance of maintaining cleanliness during travel.
Divisional Railway Manager Sanjeev Kumar appealed to all passengers and the general public to actively participate in the cleanliness campaign and support the railway administration in maintaining a clean environment.
