Chandigarh, August 6, 2025: In a significant development, the Punjab and Haryana High Court has put an interim stay on the controversial Land Pooling Policy until further hearing scheduled for August 7.
The stay comes in response to a petition filed by Advocate Gurdeep Singh Fagla on behalf of farmers and landowners. The petitioner argued that the state government's land pooling initiative is arbitrary and violates the provisions of the Land Acquisition Act, 2013.
The court’s decision has now intensified anticipation around tomorrow’s proceedings, which are expected to determine the future course of the policy that has drawn sharp criticism from various stakeholders across Punjab.
