PM Modi inaugurates two major National Highways projects worth Rs 11,000 crore in Delhi
New Delhi, August 17, 2025 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated two key National Highway projects in Delhi—the Delhi section of the Dwarka Expressway and the Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II)—after receiving a grand welcome from supporters.
Hundreds of people gathered to greet the Prime Minister as his convoy reached the inauguration venue, where Delhi CM Rekha Gupta, Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini, and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari felicitated him.
The 10.1 km Delhi section of Dwarka Expressway, constructed at a cost of ₹5,360 crore, will boost multi-modal connectivity with Yashobhoomi, DMRC Blue and Orange Lines, the upcoming Bijwasan railway station, and Dwarka bus depot.
The Alipur–Dichaon Kalan stretch of UER-II, built at a cost of ₹5,580 crore, will ease traffic on Delhi’s Inner and Outer Ring Roads, while providing direct links to Bahadurgarh and Sonipat to enhance industrial and goods movement across NCR.
The projects are part of the government’s broader plan to decongest the capital and create world-class infrastructure.
