Rajpura (Patiala), August 17, 2025: Union Minister of State for Railways and Food Processing Industries, Ravneet Singh Bittu, has created a political buzz by openly praising the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and asserting that its next mission in Punjab would be to “bring back Sikhs who had converted to Christianity.”
Addressing a gathering in Rajpura, Bittu claimed that after the RSS played a significant role in eliminating Maoists across the country, the organization would now turn its focus to Punjab. He predicted that within the next five years, the RSS would ensure that those Sikhs who had converted would be re-united with Sikhism.
Bittu also endorsed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Independence Day remarks praising the RSS, saying the Sangh had been instrumental in shaping India’s national outlook.
On the development front, the Union Minister announced that a new railway line connecting Rajpura and Malwa with Chandigarh had been approved by the Prime Minister with an initial investment of ₹800 crore. He said the line would later extend to connect Malwa with Amritsar Sahib and Talwandi Sabo.
In his speech, Bittu also lauded central schemes being implemented in Punjab, hailed Modi’s semiconductor manufacturing push, and accused the Aam Aadmi Party government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann of “looting Punjab’s money” and ignoring development.
Concluding his address, the Union Minister urged Punjabis to back the BJP, stating that only the Modi government could deliver real transformation in Punjab’s economy and create jobs for the youth.
