Popular social media influencer shot dead

New York (US), August 20, 2025 – A well-known social media influencer, Arila Mejia-Polanco (33), was shot dead in New York on Sunday morning.
Her body was discovered around 8 a.m. inside her car on the Cross County Parkway. She was found slumped over the steering wheel with multiple gunshot wounds.
Police have launched an investigation and are treating the case as a suspected “targeted killing.”
