Jammu & Kashmir, August 24, 2025: Torrential rains have wreaked havoc in Jammu and Kashmir, causing severe damage to infrastructure. A bridge over the Sahar Khad on the Jammu–Pathankot National Highway has been badly damaged by the strong water currents.
According to officials, a portion of the bridge has broken and bent under the force of the flow, with visible cracks indicating the structure could collapse completely at any moment.

The affected bridge serves as a vital link connecting the border district of Pathankot with Jammu. With its closure, thousands of commuters and residents have been severely impacted.
