MLA Bhullar reviews Sutlej embankments; DC assures full flood preparedness in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, August 25, 2025: Ferozepur City MLA Ranbir Singh Bhullar on Monday visited flood-prone villages along the Sutlej, including Nihala Lavera, Kutbuddin Wala, Bandala, Dulla Singh Wala, and Rukne Wala, to inspect embankments and assess water levels.
MLA directed drainage and related department officials to maintain constant vigilance on the riverbanks and assured residents that medicines for humans and livestock, fodder, rations, and other essential supplies were being arranged as per demand.
Deputy Commissioner Deepshikha Sharma said that the district administration is on full alert in the flood-affected belt. A base camp has been set up at Gaddi Rajo Ke, with ambulances and medical camps deployed in affected villages including Tendi Wala. She added that NDRF teams are already on standby and will be deployed if needed. Community kitchens, food packets, drinking water, and dry rations are also being arranged for the residents.
The DC further informed that health teams are on alert, preventive measures against water-borne diseases are in place, and assistance is being provided immediately wherever required. She appealed to people not to panic or fall for rumours and said that in case of emergencies, residents can contact the control room at 01632-244017.
