How will ‘Pratibha Setu’ support UPSC aspirants missing the final merit list?; Read details
New Delhi, August 31, 2025 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during the 125th episode of his monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat on Sunday, unveiled a new digital platform called ‘Pratibha Setu’, designed to help UPSC aspirants who narrowly miss making it to the final merit list.
Calling the Civil Services Examination one of the toughest competitive tests in India, PM Modi highlighted not only the success stories of toppers but also the struggles of those who fall just short despite equal dedication.
“Thousands of such candidates work tirelessly, clear all stages of the UPSC exams, but miss the final merit list by a small margin. Their talent remains unutilised, and they are forced to start afresh for other exams, costing them both time and money,” the Prime Minister said.
The newly launched ‘Pratibha Setu’ databank will store profiles of these near-selected candidates. Already, information on over 10,000 such aspirants has been compiled, which can be accessed for future employment and opportunities in other sectors.
“This initiative will ensure that the nation does not lose out on the skills and sincerity of such capable youth,” PM Modi added.
Union Minister JP Nadda tuned into the PM’s address in Mumbai, while in Delhi, BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj and Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar were among those who joined in.
