Punjab Ministers, MPs and MLAs lead flood relief on war footing; View Pics

Chandigarh, September 1, 2025 – The Punjab Government has intensified rescue and relief efforts across flood-affected districts, with Cabinet Ministers, MPs, and MLAs working on a war footing to ensure safety of lives and property.
Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema today flagged off five trucks of relief material from Mohali for the flood-hit people of Ajnala subdivision. The consignments included 1,000 ration kits, 600 drinking water packets, 400 mosquito nets, 400 mattresses, and 200 folding beds.

Cheema thanked AAP volunteers and the people of Punjab for their contributions and urged the Central Government to stand firmly with Punjab in this crisis.
Agriculture Minister Gurmeet Singh Khuddian visited Sabuana and Badiwala villages in Fazilka district to assess damage. Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains took charge of rescue operations in Sri Anandpur Sahib, launched a 24x7 helpline (+91 87279-62441), and assured flood victims that the government is standing shoulder to shoulder with them.

In Tarn Taran, Jail and Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar distributed ration, food kits, drinking water, and fodder for cattle in Khadoor Sahib, Fatehabad and Dhunda. He promised due compensation for crop and property losses after assessment (Girdawari). Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh E.T.O. supervised efforts to fill a 50-foot deep, 200-metre wide pit caused by a landslide in Marr village near Harike and inspected relief work in Keeri village.
Meanwhile, Cabinet Ministers Hardeep Singh Mundian and Mohinder Bhagat reached flood-stricken areas of Sultanpur Lodhi on tractors, delivering aid to inaccessible communities.

Lok Sabha MP Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer and MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal also reviewed relief operations at Dana Mandi, Ajnala, where essential supplies including medical kits and cattle feed were distributed.
Reiterating the government’s commitment, ministers assured flood victims that “nothing is more precious than the life and property of citizens,” and pledged continued relief until normalcy is restored.
