Breaking: CM Mann announces major flood relief package in Assembly

Chandigarh, September 29, 2025 – Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday described the recent flood crisis as a “historic crisis” in the state assembly and unveiled a major relief package for affected farmers and residents.
He assured that compensation would be disbursed before Diwali. CM Mann also thanked the youth, NGOs, the army, and all political parties for their efforts in flood relief and rescue operations.
Compensation Details:
- Crop Loss:

- 26%–75% loss: Rs 10,000 per acre
- 75%–100% loss: Rs 20,000 per acre
- House Damage: Compensation for completely damaged homes
- Land Loss: Rs 47,500 per hectare for land washed away or destroyed
- De-silting of Fields: Rs 7,200 per acre
Targeting the Centre:
CM Mann criticized the Central Government for providing only Rs 1,600 crore in flood relief, while Punjab had estimated losses at Rs 20,000 crore. He said, “Punjab has been betrayed,” and alleged that the Prime Minister did not give him time to discuss the matter.
The announcement is expected to provide significant support to farmers and residents recovering from the unprecedented flood devastation.
