Breaking: SHO suspended in Ludhiana

Ludhiana (Punjab), October 1, 2025: In a swift action, Ludhiana Police Commissioner Swapn Sharma has suspended Tibba Police Station SHO Jaspal Singh following allegations of negligence in handling a woman’s complaint.
According to officials, a woman named Dolly approached the Commissioner alleging that her husband had physically assaulted her, leaving her seriously injured. She claimed that despite repeated requests, the SHO delayed registering an FIR in the matter.
Taking note of the seriousness of the case, the Commissioner ordered the immediate suspension of SHO Jaspal Singh and directed officials to record the woman’s statement and register a case without delay.
“Negligence will not be tolerated,” said Police Commissioner Swapn Sharma, stressing that all police officers must address citizens’ complaints promptly and responsibly.
Meanwhile, ACP East Sumit Sood stated that he had not received official information regarding the SHO’s suspension but confirmed that a new SHO has already been appointed at Tibba Police Station.
