42nd Indian Oil Servo Surjit Hockey Tournament: Indian Navy Mumbai and Indian Railway Delhi teams in semi-finals

Jalandhar (Punjab), October 29, 2025: Indian Navy Mumbai defeated Indian Air Force 4-2 in a penalty shootout and Indian Railway Delhi defeated BSF Jalandhar 5-0 to enter the semi-finals of the 42nd Indian Oil Servo Surjit Hockey Tournament. The first two quarter-final matches were played on the seventh day of the tournament at the Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium, Jalandhar.

In the first quarter-final, the Indian Navy Mumbai and Indian Air Force teams put up a great show. Kriappa Mandapanda scored a goal for Indian Air Force to make the score 1-0. In the 15th minute of the game, Indian Navy Sushil Dhanwar scored a goal to level the score at 1-1. The score remained 1-1 till the end of the stipulated time. Indian Navy Mumbai defeated Indian Air Force 3-1 in a penalty shootout to enter the semi-finals.
The second quarter-final was played between Indian Railways Delhi and BSF Jalandhar. In the very first minute of the game, Gursahib Singh of Indian Railways scored a goal to make the score 1-0. In the 42nd minute of the third quarter of the game, Shriyas Bhavikdas Dhupe of Indian Railways scored a goal to make the score 2-0.
In the 48th minute of the game, Lovepreet Singh scored a goal to make the score 3-0. In the 57th minute of the game, Ali Ahmed of Indian Railways scored a goal to make the score 4-0. In the 58th minute of the game, Lovepreet Singh of Railways scored a goal to make the score 5-0 and entered the semi-finals by winning the match.
The chief guests of today's matches were Surinder Bhambri GM AGI Infra, Sham Lal Gupta (General Manager Indian Oil), Naveen Mukhija (Chief Manager Indian Oil) who introduced the teams. On this occasion, Lakhwinder Pal Singh Khaira, Iqbal Singh Sandhu, Surinder Singh Bhapa, Gurwinder Singh Gullu, Ram Pratap, Professor Kirpal Singh Matharu, LR Nayyar, Kulwinder Thiara, Sanjay Kohli, Avtar Singh, Surinder Singh, Gaurav Agarwal, Baljit Singh, elder brother of Olympian Surjit Singh, Harinder Sangha, Gurinder Sangha, Ranbir Tut, Narinder Pal Singh Judge, Natha Singh Gakhal, Gaurav Mahajan were specially present.
