Tarn Taran (Punjab), November 4, 2025: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has intensified its campaign for the Tarn Taran by-election, with Dr. Gurpreet Kaur Mann, wife of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, joining the electoral drive on Tuesday.
Dr. Gurpreet visited several villages in the constituency, where she interacted with women and addressed gatherings, emphasizing that women will play a decisive role in shaping the outcome of the election.
Highlighting the initiatives of the AAP Government, Dr. Gurpreet said that over the past four years, Punjab has witnessed major strides in women’s safety, dignity, and empowerment. She cited improvements in law and order, the success of Mohalla Clinics providing free medical care, and quality education for girls in government schools as key achievements.
She noted that 90 percent of Punjab’s households now benefit from 300 units of free electricity per month, which has eased financial burdens and empowered women to invest savings in their families’ future.
Referring to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s leadership, Dr. Gurpreet described him as a leader driven by people’s welfare, saying his government has fulfilled its promises and remains committed to women’s progress.
She further hinted at a major announcement in the upcoming budget, stating that every woman in Punjab, including those in Tarn Taran, will soon receive a monthly allowance of ₹1,000 to enhance self-reliance and financial independence.
Appealing to women voters, Dr. Gurpreet urged them to “contribute to democracy as you do to your households” and to ensure a resounding victory for AAP candidate Harmeet Sandhu, enabling continued development in Tarn Taran.
