60.95% voter turnout recorded in Tarn Taran Bypoll concludes peacefully

Tarn Taran (Punjab), November 11, 2025: The by-election for Punjab’s Tarn Taran Assembly constituency concluded peacefully on Tuesday, recording a voter turnout of 60.95 percent till 6 PM, according to the latest figures released by election officials.
Polling began at 7 AM under tight security arrangements and continued till 6 PM. Voters queued up early in the morning to exercise their franchise, with brisk polling seen in several areas. However, the pace slowed slightly as the day progressed and temperatures rose.
As per Election Commission data, 11% turnout was recorded till 9 AM, which rose to 23.35% by 11 AM, 36.06% by 1 PM, and 47.48% by 3 PM.
The turnout further increased to 59.21% by 5 PM, eventually touching 60.95% by 6 PM, reflecting enthusiastic participation across the constituency.
The polling process remained smooth and incident-free, with authorities ensuring strict adherence to security and electoral protocols.
The counting of votes for the Tarn Taran bypoll will be held on November 14, and results are expected the same day.
