Under the sweeping "Sampark Project," Adesh University in Bhucho became the meeting ground—a place where police and public converged to further the "Yudh Nashian Virudh" campaign against the shadow of addiction.
At the helm of the meeting stood Special DGP Jatinder Jain of PSPCL, flanked by DIG Harjeet Singh of Bathinda Range and Bathinda's SSP, Amneet Kondal.
During the meeting, students received both a warning to steer clear of drugs and a call to action—to help build a society free from addiction. Awareness videos flickered across the screen, vividly illustrating the devastating effects these substances can have.
The officers emphasized that youth, especially those associated with the medical field, can play a crucial role in the fight against drug abuse.
At the gathering, a Cyber Crime Cell representative cautioned the youth highlighting the surge in online scams and dangerous digital trends, while offering crucial advice on protecting themselves in cyberspace.
Moreover, the In charge PPMM educated students on topics such as distinguishing between Good and Bad Touch, the importance of helpline numbers 112 and 1930, addressing sexual harassment and domestic violence, and the utilization of the Shakti App for women's safety.
DGP Jatinder Jain said at the meeting, students were urged to avoid drugs and help create a drug-free society. Videos showing drugs' harmful effects were displayed.
SSP Bathinda Amneet Kondal said “In our meeting, we told students to stay away from drugs and help make our society drug-free. We also showed them videos about how drugs can hurt people”.
