Three motorcycle borne assailants open fire at Punjab Roadways bus in Ferozepur, conductor wounded in attack
Ferozepur, December 2, 2025 – Chaos erupted on a quiet evening commute when three masked assailants on a motorcycle unleashed a hail of bullets at a Punjab Roadways bus en route from Ferozepur to Ganganagar.
The ordeal began shortly after the bus, bearing registration PB 05 AB 5835, departed Ferozepur at 5:10 PM. As it passed through Karian Pehlawan village along the Ferozepur-Fazilka highway, the attackers zoomed in, hurling insults before firing shots directly at the driver's side. They then sped ahead, peppering the front of the vehicle with more rounds, leaving the roughly 25-30 passengers onboard in a state of terror.
Bus conductor Amandeep Singh bore the brunt of the assault, sustaining injuries from bullet pellets that struck his legs. "Everything was calm until these guys appeared out of thin air," Amandeep recounted. "They shouted abuses and fired twice – one shot smashed into the front, the other near the driver's door."
The perpetrators vanished into the night after the brazen attack, prompting the shaken driver to rush the bus to the nearest police outpost in Lakho ke Behram. Jurisdiction fell to the Mamdot police, who swiftly took charge. Authorities are now combing through CCTV footage, erecting checkpoints, and launching a full-scale manhunt to track down the culprits and uncover the motive behind this shocking roadside violence.
