Speaker Sandhwan honours Gurpreet Singh Kamon for cycling 1.5 lakh kilometers

Chandigarh, December 22, 2025: Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan on Monday honoured Gurpreet Singh Kamon for completing one and a half lakh kilometers by cycling. Kamon is a member of the renowned Kotkapura Cycle Riders (Regd.) Club of the Malwa region. Speaker Sandhwan said the entire region is proud of Kamon’s remarkable achievement.
Gurpreet Singh Kamon has been active in bicycling for the past 5 to 6 years. His record of cycling 100 kilometers per day for 100 consecutive days is recorded in the Asia Book of Records and the India Book of Records.
The Speaker highlighted that Kamon has participated in more than four dozen cycling competitions, bringing laurels to Faridkot district.
He has also won titles including Super Randonneur, the Star Independent Award, and the Bharatiya Ratna Award from the USIS Company.
On the occasion, Kultar Singh Sandhwan appealed to citizens to adopt regular exercise such as walking and bicycling as a routine to maintain a healthy lifestyle. He added that Kamon’s achievements serve as an inspiration for children and youngsters, demonstrating that strong determination can help achieve any goal, irrespective of age.
The Speaker also congratulated Kamon’s family and all members of the Kotkapura Cycle Rider team for the landmark achievement and wished them continued success. Manpreet Singh Dhaliwal, Rabab Singh, and Jashanpreet Kaur Dhaliwal were also present at the event.
