List of Punjab Police personnel selected for Republic Day Awards announced

Chandigarh, January 25, 2026: In recognition of their exemplary service, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, has announced the names of Punjab Police officers and officials to be honoured with the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service (PMDS) and the Medal for Meritorious Service (MMS) on the eve of the 77th Republic Day.
Three senior officers — Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Investigation (Lokpal) Vibhu Raj, Director Bureau of Investigation (BOI) L.K. Yadav, and ADGP Jails Arun Pal Singh — will be conferred with the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service for their outstanding and sustained contribution to policing.
Meanwhile, 15 officers and officials have been selected for the Medal for Meritorious Service. These include DIG Security Raj Bhawan Jasdev Singh Sidhu and five PPS officers — AIG SSG Randeep Singh Mann, DSP AGTF Rajan Parminder Singh, DSP Vigilance Bureau Navdeep Singh, ACP PBI Amritsar Sapinder Kaur, and DSP SPU Harinderdeep Singh.
The other recipients of the Meritorious Service Medal are Inspector Sukhjit Singh, Inspector Harish Kumar, Lady Inspector Manjit Kaur, Inspector Talwinder Singh, Inspector Rajinder Kumar, Inspector Pritpal Singh, Lady Sub-Inspector Dharamjit Kaur, Sub-Inspector Bhupinder Singh, and Assistant Sub-Inspector Swaranjit Kaur.
Congratulating the awardees, Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav expressed gratitude to both the Central and State governments for recognising the dedication and hard work of Punjab Police personnel. He said that such honours significantly boost the morale of the force and inspire officers to serve with greater commitment, especially in a border state like Punjab that faces complex security challenges.
DGP Yadav added that the recognition would further motivate the force to uphold professionalism, vigilance and public service.
