Punjab CM Mann clarifies on timing of Sri Akal Takht appearance

Chandigarh, January 13, 2026: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday clarified that there has been no change in his scheduled appearance at the Sri Akal Takht Sahib Secretariat on January 15 and asserted that he remains fully prepared to be present at 10.00 AM, as per earlier directions.
In a written response addressed to the respected Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, the Chief Minister stated that he has no other engagements on January 15 and has already conveyed the relevant information to the office of the Hon’ble President as well.
“The entire day of January 15 is dedicated to Sri Akal Takht Sahib in accordance with your orders,” the Chief Minister said.

CM Mann categorically denied issuing any official letter or statement regarding a change in timing, stating that neither he nor his office has communicated any such revision. “No official correspondence regarding a change of time has been issued from my side or my office,” he clarified.
Reaffirming his respect for Sikh institutions, the Chief Minister said he is ready to appear with humility at the scheduled time. “I am prepared to be present at 10 AM on January 15,” he stated, concluding his message with, “Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.”
The clarification comes after reports that Giani Kuldeep Singh Gadgaj had changed the timing of the Chief Minister’s appearance at the Akal Takht Sahib Secretariat from 10.00 AM to 4.30 PM on January 15.
