District-level training for Anganwadi workers launched under ‘Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi’
Ferozepur, January 16, 2026: In line with the guidelines of the Punjab Department of Social Security, Women and Child Development, district-level training of Anganwadi workers was launched under the ‘Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi’ initiative in Ferozepur, said District Programme Officer, Richika Nanda.
She said that under this Punjab government programme, Anganwadi workers are being trained with a special focus on child nutrition and early childhood education. The training sessions were organised at Dev Samaj Model School, Panchvati Hotel, and HKL College in Block Guruharsahai of Ferozepur district.
The primary objective of the training is to encourage children to communicate effectively, take care of themselves, and develop an interest in learning, besides equipping Anganwadi workers with knowledge related to various domains of child development. The first team has initiated training programmes for Anganwadi workers at different locations across the district.
On the occasion, Dr Urvashi, State Head Coordinator of the Pratham team, along with supervisors, block coordinators, and Anganwadi workers, were present.
