SAS Nagar, 18 January
Municipal Corporation SAS Nagar (MC SAS Nagar) is resuming its demolition drive on January 19, 2026, to remove unauthorized encroachments on public property, including green belts and roads, by defaulters, as directed under court orders including CWP 15892 of 2020.
This essential action, previously launched in Phases 4, 5, 10, 11, and 7 of Mohali, restores vital public infrastructure while inconveniencing only defaulters—yet earning appreciation from law-abiding citizens.
#Targeted #Encroachment #Clearance
The drive follows one public notice and sufficient time provided to defaulters for voluntary removal of encroachments, reflecting MC SAS Nagar's patient and fair approach.
Law-abiding residents, who form the majority, need not be concerned, as the focus remains solely on violations.
Residents are encouraged to clear encroachments themselves proactively, preventing losses from JCB operations.
#Oversight #Accountability
The District Magistrate has appointed a duty magistrate to supervise the drive, with police support to maintain law and order.
Any damage to public property during removal will be charged to the defaulter's property tax dues and recovered accordingly.
MC SAS Nagar urges full cooperation to reclaim green belts and roads efficiently.
