Lured by Love, Robbed at Night: Bathinda police arrest seven

Bathinda (Punjab), January 25, 2025:Bathinda Police have arrested a seven-member gang, including four women and three men, accused of luring passersby and railway passengers into fake romantic relationships and robbing them during the night.
The arrests were made by Police Station Kotwali following multiple complaints about a gang operating near the Bathinda railway station and Santpura Road, targeting unsuspecting victims.
Providing details, DSP (City-1) Amritpal Singh Bhati said the accused would approach passersby and railway passengers, gain their trust by feigning romantic interest, and then take them to isolated locations, where they were robbed of cash and valuables.
The DSP said the gang used an e-rickshaw to move around the city and carry out the crimes regularly. Acting on specific information, Kotwali Police Station SHO Inspector Parvinder Singh launched a focused operation, leading to the successful arrest of all accused.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Ranjit Moji, Vishal Kumar, Siva, Neetu, Kirna, Manpreet Kaur and Sukhdeep Kaur, all residents of Bathinda. An e-rickshaw used in the commission of the crimes has also been recovered.
