Protests block Ravi-Beas Water Tribunal delegates’ visit to Lohand Khad

Rupnagar (Punjab), February 6, 2026: The Ravi–Beas Water Tribunal delegate was unable to visit Lohand Khad near Kiratpur Sahib on Thursday following protests by local residents in Rupnagar district.
The delegate had arrived in the district to inspect the Bhakra Management Line (BML Head, Ropar) and Lohand Khad. However, residents from surrounding areas staged a protest at Bunga Sahib on the National Highway, opposing the visit.
Due to the blockade and the tense situation created by the protest, the tribunal delegate was forced to cancel the scheduled visit to Lohand Khad.
