Chandigarh, February 20:
A special meeting to hear the problems and concerns of all Scheduled Caste employees’ unions of Punjab will be held on February 23, 2026 (Monday) under the chairmanship of Jasveer Singh Garhi, Chairman of the Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission.
In a significant move aimed at addressing the concerns of Scheduled Caste employees across the state, a meeting has been organized to discuss the challenges faced by their unions and the hurdles in implementing their constitutional rights effectively. The meeting is set to take place at Punjab Bhawan, Chandigarh, and is expected to bring together representatives from various unions to deliberate on these pressing issues.
The primary agenda of the meeting revolves around understanding the difficulties encountered by Scheduled Caste employees in their workplaces and ensuring that their constitutional entitlements are upheld.
This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to address systemic barriers that may hinder the progress of marginalized communities.
To ensure organized participation, it has been announced that two representatives from each Scheduled Caste employees’ union within the state will attend the meeting. This approach aims to provide every union an equal opportunity to voice their concerns and share their experiences.
Representatives attending the meeting are required to submit necessary documentation at the entry gate of Punjab Bhawan. These documents include an authorisation letter from their respective unions, a valid identity card, or other relevant credentials confirming their representation.
The gathering is expected to serve as a platform for meaningful dialogue between union representatives and policymakers. By creating an environment where issues can be openly discussed, the meeting seeks to pave the way for actionable solutions that address grievances and improve conditions for Scheduled Caste employees.
