Mega Medical Camp held in H.S.Wala village to combat diseases caused by contaminated water
Ferozepur, February 27, 2026: In response to an outbreak of illnesses linked to contaminated drinking water in Hazara Singh Wala village under the Community Health Centre Mamdot, the Health Department has been organising continuous medical camps to provide healthcare services to affected residents.
A mega medical camp was held today in the village, where a team of specialist doctors from Civil Hospital conducted thorough health check-ups and distributed medicines to the villagers.
Civil Surgeon Dr Rajiv Parashar stated that laboratory tests were performed on residents during the camp. Out of approximately 50 lab tests conducted by noon, only four showed symptoms of jaundice. Besides, water samples from the village have been collected by health teams and sent to laboratories for testing. The District Food Officer’s team also collected samples of edible items from some shops in the village for examination.
He further informed that health department teams are distributing chlorine tablets to ensure the availability of clean water and are conducting door-to-door surveys.
Dr Parashar personally attended the mega camp to review the health facilities being provided to the villagers. He visited the homes of affected individuals to inquire about their condition and assured them of all possible health support. He also checked on children at the primary and secondary schools in the village.
During his visit, the Civil Surgeon interacted with the village sarpanch, panchayat members, and residents, issuing health advisories. He mentioned that the Deputy Commissioner of Ferozepur held a meeting today and issued instructions to various departments to extend every possible assistance to the villagers.
Dr Parashar emphasized that health department teams are continuously monitoring the health of the residents and taking all necessary measures to control the situation.
