Ludhiana (Punjab) March 4, 2026: Raja Singh, the founder of the 'Texla' brand, which revolutionized the electronics industry in India and brought television to the homes of middle-class families, is no longer with us. Raja Singh died on February 28, 2026.
At the age of 90, he breathed his last at Ludhiana's DMC Hospital (DMCH). He had been battling age-related ailments for some time. Prayer meeting will be held in GRD Academy Ludhiana on March 5, 2026.
Raja Singh was not just an industrialist, but the person who brought television within the reach of the common people at a time when owning a TV was considered a sign of wealth (luxury). His departure has created a void in the Indian industry that is difficult to fill.
A household name: Raja Singh created a distinct identity for himself not only in Punjab but also across the country through the 'Taxla' brand.
