7-Day NSS Camp concludes at Shaheed Bhagat Singh State University
Ferozepur, March 17, 2026: A seven-day National Service Scheme (NSS) camp concluded at Shaheed Bhagat Singh State University, Ferozepur, under the guidance of the Director Youth Services, Chandigarh, Assistant Director Youth Services, Ferozepur Jaspal Singh, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, and the Vice-Chancellor Dr Suresh Sharma.
During the camp, students actively participated in various social service activities, demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility towards society. Volunteers conducted cleanliness drives on campus and in nearby villages, organised tree-planting campaigns, and held rallies to raise awareness of drug de-addiction and health issues.
Expert lectures and workshops were also held on topics including environmental protection, road safety, and social issues. Prominent speakers included Dr Suresh Sharma, Dr Rameshwar Katara, Deepak Sharma (Patron, Mayank Foundation), Charanjit Singh, and Gurjeevan Singh.
The valedictory ceremony was graced by Dr Tejit Singh, Director of the Rao Virender Singh State Institute of Engineering and Technology, Rewari, as the chief guest. He congratulated NSS Programme Officers Rahul Chopra, Gurjeevan Singh, and Jasvir Chand on successfully organising the camp and emphasised that such initiatives help combat social evils.
Vice-Chancellor Dr Suresh Sharma and Campus Registrar Dr Gazalpreet Singh also lauded the efforts of NSS Coordinator Dr Bohar Singh, Block Samiti Member Harwant Singh Bhullar, programme officers, and students. They noted that such camps strengthen youth commitment to social service and inspire them to contribute to society.
Campus PRO Yashpal informed that volunteers who delivered outstanding performance during the camp were honoured during the closing ceremony. The NSS Programme Officers expressed gratitude to all volunteers, faculty, staff, and supporters for making the camp a success.
