Seminar on “Research and Publication Ethics” held at SBS State University
Ferozepur, April 7, 2026: A significant seminar on “Research and Publication Ethics” was organised by the Library Department of SBS State University, Ferozepur, under the tutelage of Vice Chancellor Dr Suresh Sharma and Librarian Tejpal Verma.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members and students. Dr Neeraj K. Singh from Panjab University, Chandigarh, along with Engineer Amardeep Singh (Internal Quality Assurance Cell), attended as keynote speakers and shared valuable insights on ethical research practices.
The primary objective of the seminar was to promote awareness about research integrity, responsible authorship, avoidance of plagiarism, data management, and the importance of peer review. The speakers highlighted various ethical challenges faced in research and stressed the need for transparency and accountability.
Detailed discussions were held on issues such as unethical publication practices, predatory journals, citation ethics, and adherence to academic writing standards.
In his message, Vice Chancellor Dr Suresh Sharma emphasised that maintaining ethical standards is essential for the credibility of research and the advancement of knowledge. He also encouraged young researchers to strictly follow ethical guidelines.
Campus PRO Yashpal stated that the symposium proved to be highly informative and beneficial, reinforcing the importance of ethics in research and publication.
The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks by Coordinator Tejpal Verma, who expressed gratitude to Registrar Dr Gazalpreet Singh, organising committee members Sukhwinder Kaur, Komalpreet Kaur, and Saranjeet Kaur, as well as all participants for making the event a success.
