Mathura Boat Tragedy: Ludhiana sets up 24x7 helplines, teams sent for coordination

Ludhiana (Punjab), April 10, 2026: In the wake of the boat accident in Mathura, the district administration in Ludhiana has set up dedicated 24x7 control rooms at Ludhiana and Jagraon to assist affected families and ensure smooth coordination.
Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain said the administration is already in touch with authorities in Vrindavan and monitoring the situation closely. He urged residents not to spread rumours or panic during this sensitive time.
Helpline numbers—01624223226 (SDM Jagraon office) and 01612403100 (DC Office Ludhiana)—have been activated to provide timely assistance and information to the public.
The DC further informed that special teams comprising civil and police officials have been dispatched to Vrindavan to strengthen coordination with local authorities handling rescue and relief operations.
Appealing for calm, Jain urged people to stay united and rely only on official information as the administration continues its efforts on the ground.
