Chandigarh, April 17, 2026: Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh will remain in Dibrugarh Jail of Assam and he will be tried for all 12 cases registered against him in Assam only. Punjab and Haryana High Court has issued interim order in this regard on plea of Punjab Government which had assured High Court that it will not re-impose NSA on Amritpal but he will be arrested for case registered against him at Ajnala.
It is worth mentioning here that Punjab Government had approached High Court yesterday seeking permission to arrest Amritpal at Dibrugarh Jail and keep him there only. High Court has agreed with proposal of the state government.
