  Tehran, May 2, 2026: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced to impose new rules over waters along its southern coastline, aiming to strengthen control of key routes in the Arabian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.
  
  According to IRGC Navy command the force would exert control over nearly 2,000 km of Iran's coastline.
