Rana Sodhi hails BJP’s historic victory, Congratulates PM Modi and HM Shah
Ferozepur, May 4, 2026: Senior leader Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi extended his heartfelt congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for steering the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to a historic and record-breaking victory in the 2026 Assembly elections across key states.
Describing the outcome as a clear and decisive mandate, Sodhi said the results reaffirm the people’s strong faith in decisive leadership, good governance, and a development-oriented vision. He termed the verdict a reflection of a confident and aspirational India that seeks stability, growth, and effective governance.
In a statement, Sodhi said, “This historic mandate is a resounding endorsement of the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji and the unmatched organisational strength and strategic clarity of Amit Shah ji.” He added that the scale of the victory, particularly in crucial states such as West Bengal and Assam, signifies a major shift in the political landscape driven by public trust.
Referring to the party’s performance in West Bengal, Sodhi noted that crossing the 200-seat mark represents not just an electoral win but a transformational political change. He further emphasized that under the leadership of Modi and the strategic planning of Amit Shah, the BJP has successfully built a deep grassroots connect across regions, communities, and generations.
Sodhi also remarked that the mandate carries an important message for Punjab, stressing that politics based on performance, transparency, and development will ultimately prevail. He urged the state to take inspiration from this national momentum and focus on economic growth, employment generation, agricultural innovation, and inclusive governance.
The BJP’s strong performance includes a major breakthrough in West Bengal with a lead in over 190 seats, while retaining a solid position in Assam with around 79 out of 126 seats. The results further consolidate the party’s national footprint, strengthening its governance presence across more than 20 states.
