Chandigarh/Mohali, May 7, 2026:
Punjab Cabinet Minister and AAP Punjab President Aman Arora has reacted sharply after his name reportedly surfaced during the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids conducted at multiple locations in Mohali, Kharar and Chandigarh in connection with an alleged land fraud and money laundering case.He said, " I will not bow before such false propaganda and misinformation.”
The Enforcement Directorate on Thursday carried out extensive searches at more than 12 locations linked to prominent builders and real estate firms in Punjab and Chandigarh. ED teams began simultaneous raids early in the morning across Mohali and Chandigarh as part of an investigation into an alleged land scam and money laundering case.
The raids have created a major political stir in Punjab. Reacting to media reports linking his name to the investigation, Aman Arora issued a strong statement on social media.
In a post, he said:
“I came to know through media reports that my name has also surfaced in today’s ED raids. My entire life has been transparent in the past, remains transparent today, and will always remain so. I will not bow before such false propaganda and misinformation.”
According the reports the searches were conducted at locations linked to the Suntec City project, Ajay Sehgal, ABS Township, Altus Builders, and Dhir Constructions. The ED action has been initiated under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
The agency is also reportedly examining the role of a person identified as Nitin Goyal. Allegations suggest that he allegedly facilitated certain builders who had defaulted on payments due to the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) and provided them with alleged political protection.
The ED action has triggered intense political reactions in Punjab. While opposition parties have targeted the state government over the issue, the ruling Aam Aadmi Party has termed the raids as an example of the Centre’s “politics of vendetta.”
The ED investigation has been started on the basis of two FIRs registered by Punjab Police as under:
FIR No. 123 dated 19.11.2022 was registered by Punjab Police at Police Station Mullanpur, SAS Nagar, Mohali, Punjab under section 120B, 420, 467, 468, 471 & 472 of Indian Penal Code, 1860 with respect to the forging of signatures for obtaining the CLU.

Chandigarh, May 7:
The Aam Aadmi Party on Thursday said that the BJP’s attempt to use Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids, intimidation, and pressure tactics against party leaders in Punjab has exposed the growing desperation of the BJP-led Central Government to crush political opponents through fear and vendetta politics.
Reacting strongly to reports linking his name to the ongoing ED action and raids, AAP Punjab President Aman Arora asserted that BJP’s “politics of hooliganism and intimidation” would never succeed in Punjab. He declared that AAP leaders are not afraid of threats issued through central agencies or attempts to suppress dissenting voices.
Aman Arora said that the repeated use of agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) against opposition leaders has now become a pattern across the country. He alleged that the BJP targets every leader who refuses to bow before it.
He further stated that AAP leaders are “soldiers of Arvind Kejriwal” who will continue fighting fearlessly for the people despite political pressure and false propaganda.
Reacting to the ED action, Aman Arora said it has become clear before the entire country that the BJP is using central agencies as political weapons to target opposition leaders.
“Whenever any leader or political party refuses to surrender before the BJP, agencies like the ED and CBI are unleashed against them,” he said.
Arora also claimed that only a few days ago, raids were conducted at properties linked to Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Mittal allegedly to pressure him into joining the BJP.
“These incidents clearly expose BJP’s agenda of misusing investigative agencies for political gain,” he added.
Claiming that AAP leaders and workers are not intimidated by such tactics, Aman Arora said:
“We are soldiers of Arvind Kejriwal. We are not afraid of the BJP or its agencies. The more they try to intimidate us, the stronger we will emerge.”
He further said that the people of Punjab are closely watching these developments and will give a strong reply to the BJP for allegedly weakening democracy and misusing constitutional institutions for political revenge.
Writing on social media platform X, Aman Arora said:
“I came to know through media reports that my name has been dragged into today’s ED raids. My entire life has been completely transparent, remains transparent, and will always remain so. I will neither be scared nor silenced by BJP’s false propaganda and politics of vendetta.”
