Captain Amarinder Singh
Chandigarh, May 24, 2016: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Capt Amarinder Singh today blamed the Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal for the “bloody civil war” between the Sikh preachers as part of his agenda of “controlled destabilisation” in the state.
“While the old wounds over desecration of holy Guru Granth Sahib at Bargadi were yet to heal, he has masterminded yet another plot, this time by putting one group of religious leaders against the other, by patronising one and expressing sympathies with the other at the same time”, he said in a statement issued here today.
“This is part of his same old game and nefarious design aimed at controlled destabilisation to create an atmosphere of fear and insecurity among people with an eye on the forthcoming assembly elections in the state”, the former Chief Minister said, while referring to the fierce confrontation between two Sikh groups that has already taken a bloody turn leading to one death.
Asserting that the murderous assault on Sant Ranjit Singh Dadarianwale was in full knowledge of the Chief Minister and he was even aware of the people behind the attack, Capt Amarinder said, Mr Badal was now trying to shed crocodile tears. “Otherwise, how is it possible that such a planned attack by so many people went unnoticed till it was executed?” he asked.
“This is the worst Mr Badal could do to the Sikhs by not only dividing their religious leaders but turning them blood thirsty against each other”, he alleged. “This can only be expected of a highly cunning and insecure person who can go to any extent to secure his own position at any cost”, Capt Amarinder said about Mr Badal, adding, “he has done it in the past and he is doing it yet again without caring about the dangerous repercussions it can have for Punjab”.
