New Delhi, January 13, 2017: Gurjit Singh Aujla has been nominated the Congress candidate for the February 4 by-poll to the Amritsar Lok Sabha seat in Punjab.
Aujla’s candidature was on Friday officially approved by AICC president Sonia Gandhi.
The Amritsar parliamentary seat was vacated following the resignation of Captain Amarinder Sijgh from the Lok Sabha over the SYL issue. Aujla, president of the Amritsar District Congress Committee (Rural), had worked aggressively for Captain Amarinder during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. Details about Aujla below:
