Dera Bassi, January 21, 2017: The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) suffered a major jolt on Saturday when former president of Dera Bassi Truck Operator Union and senior Akali leader Rahul Kaushik, Bunty Rana and Mukesh Raghav along with their hundreds of supporters joined the Congress under the leadership of Deepinder Singh Dhillon, a Congress party candidate, for the 2017 Punjab Vidhan Sabha elections here today.
Expressing their solidarity with Dhillon, the Aakali leaders joined the Congress in a function organised in Mubarikpur here on Satuday.
Saying goodbye to SAD-BJP alliance local leaders including Kewal Kumar Gupta of BJP, Dr Satish Rana, Mukesh Rana, Gulshan Sachdeva, Trivedi Camp, Tarlochan Singh, Preetpal Singh, gead of Gurdwara Committee, Meerpur, Satish Kumar panch, Vinod Kumar, Shailly Rana, Rishu Sharma, Jangi Pal Singh, Jaspal Singh, Surinder Kumar, Raman Verma and scores of others joined the Congress.
Dlioon welcomes the joinees with open arms in the party fold and ensured the party will never let them down and will gill them dure respect.
Dhillon accused the SAD sitting MLA NK Sharma for his indifferent and arrogant attitude towards the party workers which suffocated them in the SAD-BJP alliance. He also claimed that with the joining of the leaders now there was hardly any Akali left in the area.
Apart from Congress leader and workers those who were present on the occasion include Kultar Singh Jogi, President of Punjab Colonisers and property Dealers Association, SMS Sandhu, Pushpendra Mehta, Charanjeet Singh Tiwana, Jagjit Singh Dalli, and Ramesh Gutra.
