By Gurbir Singh, Hamilton (NZ), Aug 9, 2018:
Exploitation of international students in New Zealand continues in spite of various measures initiated by the NZ government to stop it. If it is not the unscrupulous employers, it is the 'shoddy' education providers who have set up businesses to fleece students by unfair means.
Today a situation has arisen where at least 20 students are planning to protest on the streets of Auckland today and, if required, to resort to hunger strike also after their results were withheld by NZ Qualifications Authority for mismanagement of Business Diploma course by Tasman International Academies of Auckland.
Students are not at fault, and their hard-earned money and years of study are going to go waste if NZ government does not intervene. Their visas are expiring this month, and they may have to return without attaining any qualifications.
