World Environment Day: Mansa Police launches month-long campaign to plant 5000 saplings
Mansa, June 6, 2021: Surendra Lamba, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police Mansa told that while celebrating World Environment Day, Mansa Police has started a special campaign of plantation with a target to plant 5000 saplings within a month.
Starting this campaign, SSP Mansa along with officers planted 100 saplings and distributed 500 saplings (fruits, flowers, and shading trees) in Police Lines Mansa to all the GOs and SHOs of the Police Stations to plant these plants in their respective Police Stations / Police Posts.
To nurture the environment and make the district rich green, while inaugurating this campaign SSP Mansa along with officers planted Mango trees in the Police Lines Mansa.
Mansa Police is making strenuous efforts to maintain Law and Order Situation in the District as well as all the officials are performing day and night hard duties to control the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Apart from this, Mansa police did not forget its environmental responsibilities and take the initiative of a month-long plantation drive in the district.
SSP Mansa further told that before this, with the help of the Horticulture department, 4500 plants of various types had already been planted in the various Police Stations/Police Posts, offices, and in Police Lines Mansa in the last 10 months. These plants are being taken care of by the Police officials.
"Four Mini Miyawaki Forests are being developed at four vacant/abandoned places in the district i.e. Police Lines Mansa, District Administrative Complex Mansa, Office of DSP Sardulgarh, and in Police Station Jaurkian. 7 more Miyawaki concept based mini- forests will be developed in coming times," SSP Mansa said.
"Apart from this, 4 Mix-fruit Garden has also been developed in approx 2 Acres land lying vacant in different parts of Police Lines Mansa. These mini Miyawaki forests will grow in the shape of natural forests fast. These plants/trees will secure the upper fertile layer of the land and also provide shelter to the birds and small animals," he added.
Thus, all the citizens have to contribute their level best on this day of 'World Environment Day' and should plant at least One plant/tree to protect the environment so that the planet can become a better place to live and best environment can be given to our future.
