Amritsar, April 20, 2024: On the orders of Municipal Corporation Commissioner Harpreet Singh, the corporation officials took to the streets with machinery and started from Hathi Gate and took full action to clean the garbage points and old debris of C&D garbage lying in different areas.
Today, the "Mera Shahar Mera Maan" campaign was launched from Hathi Gate Auto Workshop. From here to Lohgarh, there to Punjab Roadways Workshop, then Bhagwan Parshuram Chowkand back to Auto Workshop, the campaign continued today.
Officers and employees of Civil, O&M, Sanitation, Street Light and Horticulture Department participated in this campaign. Garbage and C&D waste were lifted from both sides of the roads through JCB machines, tippers, trolleys. SE Sandeep Singh, Corporation Health Officer Dr. Kiran Kumar, Sanitary Inspector Sanjeev Diwan, Secretary Inspector Harinderpal Singh, Sanitary Inspector Amrik Singh, Amandeep, Civil Department, O&M Cell and Corporation employees were present in today's campaign.
7 cows were taken to the cowshed
Corporation Commissioner Harpreet Singh was getting information about stray animals roaming on the city roads. Accidents also happen due to stray animals roaming on the roads.
A large number of stray cows were roaming on the road outside Gol Bagh. The team caught these cows and took them to the Municipal Corporation's cowshed located at Narayangarh Chhaherta.
In this corporation's cowshed, sick cows are treated as well as well maintained. This campaign will continue continuously in all five zones of the city
Corporation Health Officer Dr. Kiran Kumar said that on the orders of Corporation Commissioner Harpreet Singh, a campaign has been started by preparing a schedule to give a new look to all the main roads of the areas falling under various zones of the city.
This campaign is being continued continuously in all five zones of the city. He also appealed to the people not to throw garbage on the roads and footpaths.
