Chandigarh Mayor launches “Clean Toilet” campaign
Encourages citizens to join hands in maintaining public toilets

Chandigarh, June 4, 2023:-Anup Gupta, Mayor of, Chandigarh today launched the “Clean Toilet” campaign in a bid to clean 306 public toilets as well as community toilets by involving all councilors and citizens to join together and make their best possible efforts to maintain public toilets and community toilets during “Meri Life Mera Swachh Shehar” campaign.
The Mayor launched the campaign of cleaning public toilets under the theme “Swaasthy aur Swachhata, Dono ka Rakhen Khayaal” at Sadar Market, Sector 19, Chandigarh which was followed throughout the city by organizing different events to clean nearly 200 public toilets as well as community toilets in city markets and colonies under the supervision of area councilors in their respective wards.
During the toilet cleaning drive, the Mayor and other officers greeted the toilet attendants with flower buds and handed over to them a pair of gloves, an apron, and other safety equipment for cleaning the toilet in their respective areas.
They expressed happiness over the cleanliness inside the toilet blocks and thanked the attendants for maintaining the cleaning over there.
Similarly, all the councilors of Municipal Corporation Chandigarh participated in the cleaning of public toilet activities in their respective wards.
All the councilors praised the efforts of toilet attendants for maintaining cleanliness in the toilets and thanked them for giving flower buds besides handing them over safety equipment for cleaning the toilets and aprons.
While speaking on the occasion, the Mayor said that under the theme “Swaasthy aur Swachhata, Dono ka Rakhen Khayaal”, during which all the public and community toilets throughout the city including toilets in city markets, green belts, colonies, schools, and institutions have been cleaned.
